Pedro Múzquiz Barberá is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy at Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, on the Alfara del Patriarca campus. He graduated in Physiotherapy from the University of Zaragoza in 2015 and subsequently completed a Master's Degree in Sports Physiotherapy at Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera. He obtained his PhD from Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera in 2023, after defending his doctoral thesis entitled “Impact of an Online Lifestyle Intervention in Adults with Obesity and Hypertension during the COVID-19 Pandemic”. His professional career combines clinical practice, university teaching and research. He has developed his clinical activity in the field of sports physiotherapy, particularly during his time as physiotherapist for the youth academy teams of Levante UD over three seasons, until the 2018/2019 season. During this period, he was responsible for physiotherapy care within the academy and supervised undergraduate and master's students during their clinical placements. Between 2018 and 2023, he held a predoctoral research contract at Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, a period during which he began his teaching activity, participated in research projects and completed an international research stay at the University of Oulu, Finland. His main research line focuses on health promotion through digital interventions, particularly in populations with obesity, hypertension and cardiometabolic risk. In this field, he has participated in competitive projects funded by the Generalitat Valenciana, including project AICO/2019/331, related to the development and evaluation of web-based interventions aimed at improving lifestyle, physical activity and healthy eating. He is the author of 5 scientific articles indexed in Journal Citation Reports, published in international journals such as Nutrients, Frontiers in Public Health and Scientific Reports. Of these publications, 3 are published in Q1 journals and 2 in Q2 journals, and he is first author in 2 of them. These studies address eHealth interventions for lifestyle promotion and cardiometabolic health, quality of life in women with fertility problems, and balance in physically active young people. He currently combines his teaching and research activity at Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera with clinical practice in the private sector, integrating scientific evidence, clinical care and health promotion throughout his professional development.
